Emily Mortimer, DO
Hello! I am originally from Brimfield, Ohio and until recently have spent my entire life there! I attended Hiram College for my undergraduate studies where I was lucky enough to be able to play on the volleyball team. For medical school, I attended Ohio University Heritage College of Medicine. I am extremely excited to be a part of the Forrest General Residency Program. I was drawn to this program for the compassionate attending physicians as well as other residents. The extensive inpatient curriculum is a big factor for me because I know that by the end of my training I will be prepared to better treat my patients in the outpatient setting with so much inpatient work under my belt! I chose family medicine for the relationships that I am hoping to have with my future patients. I want to be the constant and stable point person for all of my patients.
Outside of the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend, our two kitties (Jackson and Anastasia) and our pup River! We like to spend time outside hiking and exploring. We played lots of volleyball in Ohio and are still looking to find places to play in Hattiesburg. In the fall, football is always on. We are big Cleveland Browns fans in our house! I got bit by the travel bug early in life and have been to quite a few international destinations. I am looking forward to exploring more in the US in the next couple of years!
