James Presgraves, MD

I was born in Magee, MS, and lived on a small farm until my undergraduate years at Belhaven University in Jackson, MS. It was during these years that I met my loving wife, Jean, and we married just before I graduated with my undergraduate degree. I intentionally took 3 years off between college and medical school to assist elderly family members. I subsequently pursued medical school in 2014 at UMMC. During this time, my son, Alex, was born and has become the light of my life. I graduated medical school in 2018 and began my family medicine training at FGH that same year. When I am away from the hospital, I enjoy playing billiards, reading and traveling.
